Hood 75, Gallaudet 47
Dec 6, 2007

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Junior Ryan Junghans tallied a game-high 26 points to lead the Hood College men's basketball team (5-3, 2-1 CAC) to a 75-47 victory over Gallaudet University Thursday.

The contest was originally scheduled to be Hood's home game, but as a result of the closure of Gov. Thomas Johnson High School due to inclement weather, the game was relocated to Gallaudet's campus. To further complicate matters, the start of the game was delayed 90 minutes due to heavy traffic congestion in the District.

Hood trailed 18-15 midway through the first half after a tip-in by Lance Gonzalez. From there, a three-pointer by junior Tim Abercrombie ignited an 11-0 spurt by the Blazers which made it 26-18 Hood. Five different players scored for Hood in the run, including Junghans, Jesse Gutekunst, Rian McHenry and Arthur Claybon. Junghans drilled his second trey of the half from the left corner to give the Blazers a double-digit lead and the Blazers led 34-24 at the break.

Hood continued to pour it on in the second half. A fastbreak layup by Junghans stretched lead Blazer lead to 21 points and Gallaudet would get no closer than 19 the rest of the way.

Junghans shot 9-17 from the field, including five three-pointers, while McGlone and Gutekunst also reached double figures with 12 apiece.

The Blazers return to action Saturday at CAC foe St. Mary's College at 4 p.m.
