SALISBURY, Md. - In the
consolation game of the 2007 Optimist Classic the Salisbury
University men's basketball team fell to Ramapo College, 91-68, on
Saturday afternoon at the Maggs Center.
The Sea Gulls (2-6) were led by senior Gary
Ward who scored a team-high 19 points as he shot 5-for-10
from three-point range. Ward added four rebounds and three assists
and was named to the all-tournament team. Junior Brandon
Abney aided in the SU effort with 15 points and four
rebounds.
Ramapo (4-3) was paced by Tim Wesley who had game-highs in
points with 23 and assists with five as he shot 10-for-12 from the
field. Omar Alston was named to the all-tournament team as he
chipped in 13 points and five rebounds. The Roadrunner's Ahmad
Hassan added 20 points, three assists and six steals off the bench
in 21 minutes of action.
Salisbury was outscored in the paint 56-18 for the game.
The Sea Gulls return to action as the host St. Mary's (Md.) on
Wednesday, December 5, in a Capital Athletic Conference game.
