2008 PrestoSports/Provident Pride Tournament MVP and All-Tournament Team
Camontae Griffin (Baltimore, MD/Dunbar) of St. Mary's (Md.), earned Provident Pride tournament MVP honors after averaging 24.0 points and shooting 52.1% from the floor over three games. [more]
Seahawks Capture Provident Pride Tournament
Stevenson, Md. - The tournament MVP, junior guard Camontae Griffin (Baltimore, Md./Dunbar) poured in a game- and season-best 28 points to lead the St. Mary's College of Maryland men's basketball team to the Fourth Annual Provident Bank Pride of Maryland Division III Men's Basketball Scholarship Tournament title with a come-from-behind 84-81 victory over Johns Hopkins University Sunday evening. Feb. 23, 2009 Week 12: 2008-09 PrestoSports/Provident Pride Player of the Week
For the second time in five weeks, the Salisbury Seagulls' co-captain Devin Jones (Severn, Md./Old Mill) has been named as the PrestoSports/Provident Pride Player of the Week. Jones helped lead SU to a 1-1 record this past week.
Feb. 16, 2009 Week 11: 2008-09 PrestoSports/Provident Pride Player of the Week
For the second time this season Camontae Griffin (Baltimore, Md./Dunbar) has been named as the PrestoSports/Provident Pride Player of the Week while leading the Seahawks to the top of the CAC standings this past week. Griffin averaged 28.5 points and shot 51.3 percent from the floor.
Feb. 9, 2009 Week 10: 2008-09 PrestoSports/Provident Pride Player of the Week
The 2008-09 Provident Pride Tournament Champions, St. Mary's (Md.), enjoyed a perfect 3-0 week while being led by this week's PrestoSports/Provident Pride Player of the Week Alex Franz (Catonsville, Md./Cardinal Gibbons). Franz notched double digits in all three victories for the Seahawks.
Feb. 2, 2009 Week 9: 2008-09 PrestoSports/Provident Pride Player of the Week
The PrestoSports/Provident Pride Player of the Week has been awarded to Tim Kohlrus (Fairfax, VA/W.T. Woodson) of Washington College after he averaged 20.7 points and 6.0 rebounds per game in helping Washington College go 2-1 on the week.
Jan. 26, 2009 Week 8: 2008-09 PrestoSports/Provident Pride Player of the Week
The Seagulls' Devin Jones (Severn, Md./Old Mill) is this weeks PrestoSports/Provident Pride Player of the Week after averaging 20.7 points over three games, which were all victories for Salisbury University.
Jan. 19, 2009 Week 7: 2008-09 PrestoSports/Provident Pride Player of the Week
Camontae Griffin (Baltimore, Md./Dunbar) led the Seahawks in a pair of overtime games as St. Mary's posted a 1-1 week behind Griffin's 26.0 points per game. For his outstanding guard play this past week, Griffin has been named the PrestoSports/Provident Pride Player of the Week.
Jan. 12, 2009 Week 6: 2008-09 PrestoSports/Provident Pride Player of the Week
St. Mary's (Md.) sophomore guard Alex Franz (Catonsville, Md./Cardinal Gibbons) averaged 16.0 points in a 2-0 week for the Seahawks and has now been recognized as the PrestoSports/Provident Pride Player of the Week.
Jan. 5, 2009 Week 5: 2008-09 PrestoSports/Provident Pride Player of the Week
Andrew Farber-Miller (Charlottesville, VA/St. Anne's-Belfield) led Johns Hopkins to the inaugural ECAC Holiday Classic title at Disney's Wide World of Sports and has now been named as the PrestoSports/Provident Pride Player of the Week.
Dec. 15, 2008 Week 4: 2008-09 PrestoSports/Provident Pride Player of the Week
After leading the Salisbury Sea Gulls to a second straight victory, Greg Palmer (Salisbury, Md./Salisbury Christian) has been named as the PrestoSports/Provident Pride Player of the Week. Palmer was on the PrestoSports/Provident Pride Honor Roll the week before.
Dec. 8, 2008 Week 3: 2008-09 PrestoSports/Provident Pride Player of the Week
Junior Greg Woody (Baltimore, Md./Mount Saint Joseph) averaged 21.0 points and 5.5 rebounds while totaling nine three-pointers in two CAC games this past week and has now been named the PrestoSports/Provident Pride Player of the Week.
