McDaniel Outlasts Hood in Triple Overtime to Win Provident Championship
Tournament MVP Brett Foelber recorded five of his game high-tying 23 points in the third overtime period and a critical steal in the final six seconds to lead McDaniel to an 85-84 victory over Hood in the championship game of the 2007 Provident Pride of Maryland tournament in non-conference mens basketball action on Sunday. After wrapping up the final week of the regular season with lots of momentum going into tournament play, Doug Polster (Bernardsville, NJ/Bernards) has been named as the PrestoSports/Pride of Maryland Player of the Week, becoming the third Blue Jay to receive this honor thus far this season.

St. Mary's (Md.) had a big week, knocking off two conference opponents and improving their record to 8-7 in the Capital Athletic Conference. Playing a key part in these two victories was the PrestoSports/Pride of Maryland Player of the Week, Mike Smelkinson (Elkridge, Md./Long Reach) who is enjoying a terrific end to his Senior year.

McDaniel College's Brett Foelber (Sykesville, Md./Cardinal Gibbons) was named the 2007 Provident Pride of Maryland Tournament Most Valuable Player after leading the Green Terror to a championship win.
Nov. 25, 2007 Hopkins Slips Past Villa Julie, 64-61, In Overtime at Provdent Pride Tournament
BALTIMORE, MD Sophomore Pat OConnell scored four of his seven points in overtime and senior Doug Polster hit a game-clinching layup with six seconds remaining in the extra session to lead host Johns Hopkins to a 64-61 win over Villa Julie.
