ROCKVILLE, MD (12 November 2007) - PrestoSports has created and will administer a weekly Player of the Week award under the auspices of the Provident Bank Pride of Maryland men's basketball tournament. The award will be presented on Mondays, beginning on November 19, 2007, and concluding February 25, 2008.
There are nine schools who comprise the Pride of Maryland. All are NCAA Division III members: Frostburg State College, Goucher College, Hood College, John Hopkins, McDaniel College, Salisbury State College, St. Mary's College of Maryland, Villa Julie College and Washington College.
"We are delighted to have the opportunity to honor these student-athletes," states Chris Gonzales, Director of Sales and Marketing at PrestoSports. "These nine Maryland institutions represent the best of Division III both on the court and in the classroom."
The award is modeled after the Metropolitan (NYC) Basketball Writers Association Player of the Week Award, which PrestoSports also sponsors and administers.
